Lactation cookies from mommoremilk

Based upon a review from my office mate, katanya this lactation cookies actually works..memandangkan i baru sahaja hantar anak i pergi ke nursery..and i punya stock dekat rumah x banyak..so i thought, i wanna try these lactation cookies..to boost up my milk production. 

I received the package around 2 weeks past. I ordered one bag only. Try-try dulu.. Oat and Hershey lactation cookies..Excited nk try..yumm yumm..Cookies dia..boleh tahan besa la jugak..and sangat sedapp ok..i makan for breakfast..coz time breasfeeding ni..i asyik cepat lapa aje..makan cookie ni for breakfast..dpt instant energy..

I googled around..what exactly is in these lactation cookies?? There are many recipes..but most of them have these items below:-
  1. Oats
  2. Brewers Yeast
  3. Flaxseed Meal 
Items-items ni memang dikatakan dapat boost milk product -->galactagogue ..tp ini semua bergantung pada badan masing-masing..

My own experience after indulging in these cookies...

I notice sejak makan cookies ni, breast i asyik rasa panas and berat aje...bkn sebelah aje tapi dua-dua belah.. i think the cookies are working..tp dengan makan cookies ni, kena minum banyak air..kalo boleh, selepas je makan cookie ni, terus je minum air-->gelas besar 
After around a week consuming these cookies..i boleh rasa yg both of my breast terasa full..masuk office je..mesti nk pump dh..selalunye after 10 br nk pump..skg..dlm..kul 9 dh kena pump..now each pumping session boleh dpt around 5oz-10oz..Alhamdulillah..rezeki Lily..

Yeah..boleh wat stock lagi...setakat ni Alhamdulillah, still fully BF lagi..
As far as these cookies are concern, they work for me..
Ada lactation brownies jugak dari momoremilk ni..ingat nk try cookies dia dulu..
so for moms out there..do try these lactation cookies..it definitely works for me..

One day nanti nak try jugak buat sendiri..hehehe..i jumpa recipe ni dari mr google..

Lactation cookie recipe
2 Tablespoons flax seed meal
4 Tablespoons water
1 cup butter, soften to room temperature
1 1/2 cups firmly packed brown sugar
2 eggs, room temperature
1 teaspoon vanilla
2 cups flour (all-purpose or white whole wheat)
3-4 Tablespoons brewer’s yeast
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon salt
3 cups rolled oats
1 cup chocolate chips

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees
  2. In a small bowl, combine the flax seed meal and water. Let stand for 5 minutes.
  3. In a large bowl or stand-up mixer, beat butter and brown sugar well.
  4. Add eggs and beat well.
  5. Add flax seed mixture and vanilla, beat well.
  6. In a separate bowl, sift together flour, brewer’s yeast, baking soda & salt.
  7. Add dry ingredients to butter mixture, mix well.
  8. Stir in oats and chocolate chips.
  9. Scoop by rounded tablespoons onto baking tray.
  10. Bake 12 minutes.
  11. Cool on baking tray for 5 minutes before transferring to a cooling rack.

Be creative and try these variations or additions:
1 teaspoon cinnamon
flaked or shredded coconut
dried cranberries, cherries, apricots or raisins
white chocolate chips

Other tips to maintain your milk supply:
  • Remember to keep up your water intake. Have a glass of water next to you every time you breastfeed (right next to your cookies!). Ideally have a water bottle with you all the time and try to sip every 15 minutes.

  • Offer the breast more frequently. Demand equals supply as far as breast milk goes – when you pump or your baby is nursing at the breast it sends signals to make more milk!
